We believe that all children should have the opportunity to have access to live theatre.
Gift A Seat is a platform where you can help put a smile on a disabled or disadvantaged child’s face, and let them experience the joys of live theatre.
For years we have been offering free tickets to low decile schools, which has been possible through funders. Through our own outreach programme we also offer tickets to our shows to children and their families from various charities – Make-A-Wish New Zealand, Kelston Deaf Education Centre, BLENNZ (Blind and Low Vision Education Network of NZ).

Here’s what a Grandmother of a boy under the care of Make-A-Wish New Zealand said of their visit to one of our shows:
“What another fabulous show… the boys loved it!!! Jayden got to go up on the stage with his dog… unfortunately my phone camera came out blurry!!! He was calling out to the characters throughout the show totally engrossed in the antics of the animals!!! I asked him what his best part was and he said Mrs Wishy Washy and cow… but also standing on the stage taking a bow… cute!!!
So appreciated the seats right in the front row… so he could see!
Back to business this week… MRI this morning and chemo and results Wed so it was lovely to have something special and fun to spend a Sat morning”. – Love Pauline
Tim Bray Productions present four shows a year, with a strong focus on New Zealand literature. Plus our Youth Theatre gives children an opportunity to learn drama techniques and gain confidence that will benefit them on and off the stage.
“My son loves going to drama classes, it’s one of the highlights of his week. What I hadn’t appreciated before he started was how much drama would help him with a whole range of social skills which has been really valuable.” – Quote from Mum of TBP Youth Theatre Student.
As Auckland’s leading theatre for children, Tim Bray Productions is also a registered charity and we’re offering individuals and companies the opportunity to sponsor children from Make-A-Wish New Zealand, Kelston Deaf Education Centre, BLENNZ (Blind and Low Vision Education Network of NZ), low decile schools with free seats to our theatre shows and scholarships for disadvantaged or disabled children to enjoy a term’s worth of Youth Theatre classes. Having an opportunity to experience live theatre is a life enriching experience some children may never have. With your help we can make this possible.
Here’s how you can help:
By donating $25 a disabled or disadvantaged child will be able to attend a live theatre performance.
By donating $160 a disadvantaged or disabled child will benefit from a Youth Theatre Scholarship.
As we are a registered charity, any donations can be claimed against an individual’s or company’s tax.
“Mrs Wishy-Washy is more than just a comfortable hour long dalliance in the theatre. It is a fine addition to the children theatre…”
